Today I begin to install a Shadow Matrix for Metamorphosis at the NOYES CULTURAL ARTS CENTER. Opening reception September 22nd – Stay tuned!

The 1st stages of installation: These are some of the raw materials that I will be using, altered metal mesh. The grid pattern that you see is the moire` effect.

3:30 p.m. performance by New Material:  Mikel Avery, Leroy Bach, Tadd Cowen, and John Preus on instruments made in Preus’s studio

“Metamorphosis” will feature the artwork of Daniella Algarate, Dana Major, Alfonso Piloto Nieves Ruiz, John Preus, Susan Sensemann & Rodrigo Lara Zanedas in the first floor gallery of the Noyes Cultural Arts Center at 927 Noyes Street in Evanston.  Through a variety of media including sculpture, fiber, photography & light these artists examine the transformative nature of visual art and its relationship to theater and music.

A performance by New Material, most recently seen at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, will take place at Noyes Cultural Arts Center at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 22.
